I was waxing the hood of my F150 and I dented the hood with the palm of my hand. When I let it go, the hood remained pushed in. How do I fix a dent on the aluminum hood of my car?

Aluminum can be tricky because the material hardens as you’re working, dissipates heat quickly, and can permanently change if heated past 570 degrees. Thankfully, you can
in the aluminum hood of your car by applying heat and using a pulling tool.
Here are the steps you should follow if you decide to repair the dent:
Disconnect the battery and any other electronic devices
Heat the damaged area until it reaches 400°F and the metal softens.
Apply studs and align the pulling tool.
Pull studs by turning the pulling tool handle until the dent is gone.
If you do not have the tools to heat or pull aluminum, consider taking your car to a certified aluminum body repair shop to avoid further damage to the hood.
