How do I dye cloth car seats to eliminate stains?

I want to dye my car seats to get rid of stains and discoloration before I sell my car—I figure that way, I can get a higher value on it. I've never done something like this before, though. How do I dye them? What do I use?

“This is a smart way to earn more value on your car! To dye cloth car seats and eliminate stains, many people use Rit. It’s a popular brand that’s been around for more than 100 years and works well with car seats—and it may even improve the
retail value
of your car.
Dyeing the cloth is a quick process you can complete by following these steps:
  • Clean the carpet thoroughly.
  • Tape over any areas you don’t want to dye.
  • Use a lawn weed sprayer device to mix up your dye.
  • Spray the area and scrub it with a brush.
  • Allow the carpet to dry and then wash it with a wet rag.
After dyeing your carpet, you should also go through
basic car maintenance
to make your car mechanically sound for selling it.
