How do I do a 2018 Honda Accord AC recharge?

The AC recently went out on my 2018 Accord. After doing some research, I determined that it probably just needs a recharge, and most websites recommend doing it yourself to save cash. How can I do an AC recharge on my 2018 Honda Accord?

Doing an AC recharge on an Accord yourself can probably save you between $50 and $100 in labor costs, and it’s surprisingly easy. To do a 2018 Honda Accord AC recharge, just follow these steps:
  1. Purchase a can of refrigerant. The type you need is listed in your owner’s manual, and unless you have a hybrid, it’s the R1234YF type. Models prior to 2018 use R134, so make sure you buy the right one.
  2. Pop the hood.
  3. Start the vehicle and turn the air conditioner on full blast.
  4. Find the low-pressure service valve, which is located on the left side of the engine compartment.
  5. Attach the can of refrigerant.
  6. Monitor the pressure gauge and continue to let the flow of refrigerant go until it reaches the optimal range as stated in the instructions on the refrigerant can.
  7. Detach the hose, close the hood, and you’re done!
While you’re taking a minute to learn how to recharge the AC on your vehicle, why not take a few minutes more to save on your
