How do I connect Bluetooth to a 2011 Hyundai Genesis?

I’m borrowing my dad’s older Hyundai for the week and I would like to be able to play podcasts on my commute to work. How can I connect my phone to Bluetooth on a 2011 Hyundai Genesis?

A good podcast sure makes morning rush hour more pleasant! You can connect Bluetooth to a 2011 Hyundai Genesis via your car’s Bluetooth settings menu by following a few quick steps.
Start by hitting the Bluetooth voice-activation button on the right-hand side of your steering and saying setup. The system will respond by giving you a list of setup options including pair a phone—you’ll choose this option by saying “pair a phone”. You’ll be asked to name the phone by saying whatever name you want your Hyundai Genesis to recognize your phone by, then say “yes” to confirm.
From here, your Hyundai Genesis is ready to pair with your phone. Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings menu. Under the Bluetooth devices drop-down menu, you should see Genesis as a pairing option.
Once you select “Genesis” you may be asked for a passkey. If so, enter “0000” or “1234”, then hit “ok”. When successfully paired, you will see the words pairing complete on the Genesis’ audio screen and you’ll be ready to stream music and make hands-free phone calls from your vehicle. For older models like the 2011 Genesis, you can
upgrade to Bluetooth speakers
for better sound quality, but otherwise, you should be good to go!
