How can I fix a broken car sun visor?

I’ve been having an issue with the sun visor in my car. It keeps flopping down whenever I hit a big bump and it’s getting really annoying. I’ve been taping it up recently, but I think it’s time to try and fix it for real. How can I fix a broken sun visor?

How annoying and also potentially dangerous! Thankfully, it’s a pretty easy fix.
Sun visors generally have two ways of being attached to the roof of your car. It’s either with fixed mounts or swivel mounts.
If you have swivel mounts:
  • Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws holding the visor to the roof of your car. Be careful not to make them too tight, or it’ll be difficult to adjust your visor
If you have fixed mounts:
  • You will need to tighten all the screws that secure the bar to your car’s roof.
  • Make sure that the visor clips are holding the visor in place. If they are not, add some material, preferably rubber stripping, to the clips so that they can hold your visor better.
While a broken visor may seem like a small issue, it can lead to a serious and sudden obstruction of your vision. It could even lead to an accident in certain circumstances, so it’s great you’re repairing it yourself.
