Car insurance
usually follows the car, not the driver—it’s great you’re already aware of this! Luckily, transferring your policy to another car is as simple as giving your agent a call.
The agent will ask for some vehicle ID information and then walk you through some different coverage options recommended for the new car. (If you want to keep the same amount of coverage, that’s cool too.)
The last thing to watch out for is a potential lapse in coverage. Make sure the last date of coverage on the old car is directly before the start date of coverage on the new car, otherwise you could face financial consequences down the road.
