Someone I know is learning how to paint cars, and he offered to do it for me at a really good price as long as I prepped my car first. How do I prep my car for getting painted?

It’s so nice of your friend to help you give your car a fresh paint job! Here’s how to prep your car for paint:
- Pull or fill any dings or dentson your car’s surface.
- Carefully sand down any excess filling.
- Go over your car with a 1,200 grit sandpaper to rough up the existing paint.
- To remove paint in larger areas, use an electric sander in circular motions.
- Wipe away any excess paint or grit left behind on your car.
Once you’ve removed as much paint as possible, your car is ready for a new paint job!
