How can I remove dried bird poop from car paint?

Is there a good way to remove dried bird poop from car paint? I went camping this weekend, and now there is gross dried bird poop all over my car. It's so nasty! I don't want to mess up the paint color, but I need to get rid of it.

Because bird poop’s acidic, it can ruin your paint job—so get it off as soon as possible! Here are a few DIY options to remove dried bird poop from your car:
  • Seltzer water: Plain seltzer water can work wonders! Just spray some on the stain and let it sit for about 30 seconds. Wipe it with a cloth, rinse with water, and you should be done!
  • Baking soda: Mix hot water and baking soda (4-5 tablespoons) in a spray bottle, and shake. Generously spray the mix on any bird droppings you find and let it sit for a few minutes. When you rinse with water, everything should slide right off.
  • Detailing products: Buy a specialty cleaner from a car maintenance shop like Auto Zone or an online retailer. They may be a bit pricey, but they’ll be worth it if they can save your paint job
If DIY isn’t your thing, take your car to a local car wash or detailing shop and let the professionals handle it.
