How can I remove a car from an insurance policy?

What’s the best way to take a car off your insurance? I'm trying to remove a vehicle I no longer own from my Progressive policy.

You can remove vehicles from your
Progressive
policy:
  • On the Progressive website
  • Via the mobile app
  • By calling 1-800-776-4737
If you choose to remove the vehicle online or through the mobile app, simply log in, access your policy details, and select the vehicle you wish to remove. To remove it by speaking with a representative, simply let the agent know which car you wish to take off your policy.
Need to know: If the vehicle you’re removing from your policy is the only one on it, you’ll have to call the company directly, as your
car insurance
policy will need to be canceled.
Be aware that canceling your policy without a new policy in place will trigger a
lapse of coverage
. A lapse can impact your future rates, as insurance companies use prior insurance coverage as a rating factor when pricing your policy.
