I have always been on my parent's policy. But, now, at the age of 30, they are kicking me off! Is there a way to get cheap car insurance when you haven't had insurance before?

Starting a new insurance policy when you haven’t had one before can be very expensive. Insurance providers generally offer a lower rate to drivers who have had three years of continuous prior insurance.
It sounds like you have had insurance for a long time, just not under your name. If you have been an active driver with an active driver’s license, have your parent’s insurance company send you a letter stating how long you have been a driver on that policy.
Most insurance providers will count the time you were insured with your parents and rate you in a preferred category. If they ask for proof of prior coverage, you can send them a copy of the letter.
