How can I fix a faded carbon fiber hood on my car?

A while ago I got a carbon fiber hood for my Honda, and recently I’ve noticed that it's been fading slowly. How can I fix the faded carbon fiber on my hood?

I’m sorry to hear that your carbon fiber hood isn’t lasting as long as you might have expected. Fixing this issue requires a very steady hand and a good understanding of the depth of the resin on top of carbon fiber.
Take your car to a body shop for the best results. When you bring it in, they will likely wet sand the area to remove the top layer of damaged resin then apply layers of clear coat. Once the clear cost is dry, they will wet sand again and buff the area to leave your hood looking as good as new.
Although this process may seem simple, it is very easy to overdo the sanding and damage the carbon fiber within, damaging the hood beyond reasonable repair. You should call around to different auto body shops for price quotes on this service.
Typically, faded carbon fiber is a result of too much sun exposure on the resin covering the fiber. In the future, try and park your car in the shade as much as possible, whether that be under trees, in a garage, or in a covered carport. Sun affects your entire car’s paint, and it’s quite
costly to repaint a car
.
