How can I find Electric Car Charging Points?
I have an electric car, and while it usually lasts the day without needing to be charged, I’m wondering how to find electric car charging points in case I need them.

Gas stations are pretty much on every corner, but charging stations can be a little trickier to find. Fortunately, there’s an app for that!
Search within your navigation app
In Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze, another popular navigation app,**just type in “EV charging stations” and it will search all the different destinations and the connector types available for you.
Apps Specific to EV drivers (The following apps are all available for free on iOS & Android):
- Tesla App:
Specific for Tesla drivers, this app is a hub with everything from updating your vehicle’s software, to unlocking your car from far away. The app helps you find nearby supercharger stations and pay from your mobile device. It’s like something out of a sci-fi movie!
- ChargePoint App:
Helps drivers find charging stations from major networks and allows you to pay by tapping their mobile device. The app tracks the charging history of your vehicle as well as monitors the current charge level.
- PlugShare:
This app provides a social and review network for drivers. Users can pay and leave reviews on different charging stations. This helps users not only find the nearest stations but the best-rated ones.
- Chargeway:
For visual thinkers, this app color-codes charging stations—according to connector types, Tesla-specific, and fast charging—to help you get what you need. The app also helps users determine which stations will charge their vehicle the fastest.
With an app, finding an EV charging station is as easy as the click of a button.
