How can I clean my driving record in Texas?

I've lived in Texas my whole life. I haven’t always been a good driver, and I've accumulated quite a few points on my record. Is there any way to get them removed?

You can’t directly remove points but you can clean your
Texas driving record
by building up a history of safe driving.
Here are a few things you could try to improve your Texas driving record and avoid future traffic tickets:
  • Don’t forget your driver’s license at home
  • Make sure you’ve got
    proof of insurance
    in your glove box
  • Fix any car troubles (like broken tail lights, headlights, or mirrors) ASAP
  • Keep your driver’s license and registration up to date
  • Pay any traffic tickets as soon as possible
  • Try and fight any new traffic tickets and hire legal representation if necessary
Take note: The Texas Department of Public Safety doesn’t provide anyone but you with a driving record older than three years.
Learn from your mistakes and they’ll become valuable in their own right. Good luck!
