Does Suzuki use timing belts or chains?

I’m learning about cars so I can inherit my dad’s Suzuki when I graduate from high school. Does Suzuki use timing belts or chains?

Wow, how cool that you get to inherit your dad’s car! Some Suzuki cars use timing chains and others use timing belts, depending on the model and the displacement of the engine.
2.0 and 2.5 L Suzuki Grand Vitaras use a timing chain, for instance, but 1.6 L Vitaras use a timing belt. The Suzuki Swift uses a timing belt. The Suzuki SX4 uses a belt in the petrol engines and a chain in the diesel engines.
The best way to know what’s on your vehicle is to look in the owner’s manual—or look under the hood. Not all Suzukis are alike!
There are major differences between timing chains and timing belts. The biggest is that chains should last for the entire lifetime of the vehicle. With rubber timing belts, you usually have to replace them several times. Because of this, more and more vehicles nowadays are using metal timing chains.
Before you inherit the car, you should check out your
