background
The 2011 Nissan Rogue has a variety of known issues with the powertrain, speed control, engine, and more. Also notable are electrical system problems.
The Rogue is a compact crossover built to impress. Though it has less storage capacity than others in its class, the interior is made to feel luxe. With good handling and a competitive fuel economy, it’s a solid choice when pitted against similar models, such as the 2011
Honda CR-V
and 2011
Toyota RAV4
However, style is worth nothing without substance.

The most common 2011 Nissan Rogue Problems

By far, the most encountered 2011 Nissan Rogue problem has to do with the powertrain. There are 182 logged complaints (out of a total of 339) with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) relating to the transmission. Unfortunately, these fixes are usually quite expensive, and replacing the system entirely costs even more.
Several reports noted transmissions that overheated. In many cases, the transmission problems resulted in the vehicle refusing to accelerate, forcing the car to come to a halt. Many drivers had a successful restart after waiting a few moments for the engine to cool down.
In some cases, the powertrain made clicking or whirring noises prior to the malfunction. Other cars jerked or sputtered when trying to change gears. However, many drivers reported receiving no warning before the breakdown of their (often low-mileage) vehicles. The newness of the vehicle was a common point of concern
Other problems listed on the NHTSA website include:
  • Electrical system
  • Airbags
  • Vehicle speed control
  • Engine
  • Electronic stability control
There have also been two recalls for the 2011 Rogue. Both have the potential to be quite serious.
The first is an electrical issue. Some vehicles experienced a shortage, which was due to improperly installed harness connectors. Water intrusion from snow or rain caused some units to short out. Electricity and water are not a good mix; shortages can cause a vehicle fire, so it’s best to get this taken care of as soon as possible.
The second recall is for a failure of the power steering control unit. This is caused by improper placement of the circuit board. Without power steering, the wheel becomes significantly more difficult to turn. This is especially dangerous when it fails during use, and turning becomes much harder with no warning.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
