What a pain! Sorry to hear about your touchy sunroof.
Broadly speaking, it seems like Kia’s warranty should cover the sunroof. It’s the kind of thing that should fall under the 5-year/60,000-mile warranty coverage, provided the issue isn’t caused by routine wear or misuse.
That being said, there have been some reports of Kia denying sunroof issues as warranty repairs, so it’s hard to say for sure.
