How do you reset the service light on a BMW 328I?

I recently took my BMW 328I into the shop for an oil change and general tune up. I noticed shortly after that my service light still hasn’t turned off. Is there any way I can reset the service light on my BMW 328I?

It isn’t uncommon for a car’s service light to remain on even after visiting the mechanic. Often, this is because your mechanic forgot to reset the light, as most require manual resets. Luckily, you can reset the service light on your
BMW 328I
by following these simple steps:
  1. Turn your car on, but do not start the engine.
  2. Find the small odometer button near the bottom left of your instrument panel and hold it down until the service message appears.
  3. Release and hold the button again until you receive a prompt to reset.
  4. Let go of the button and hold it down once more until you see Reset Successful.
  5. Turn the car off and then start the engine to ensure the lights turn off.
Now that you don’t have to deal with a persistent service light, you can drive with a bit more peace of mind. However, before you get back on the road, make sure that you check out the
