Does home insurance cover AC leaks?
Our home’s AC recently started leaking and it doesn’t appear to be working properly. It’s supposed to be extremely hot next week, so I want to make sure it’s working. Will our home insurance cover AC leaks?

Having a working air conditioner in sweltering heat makes your life easier! For your home insurance to cover AC leaks, a covered peril must cause the damage. If your AC is leaking due to accidental or sudden cracking, bulging, or tearing, your home insurance will cover the damage.
However, if your AC stops working due to age or mechanical failure, your home insurance wouldn’t cover the leaks. Even if your AC stopped working suddenly,
