I’m thinking about purchasing my friend’s 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It runs great, looks great, and he says that he thinks it’s still under warranty. However, that seems like a rather lengthy warranty, so I wanted to double-check. What’s the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee warranty?

The original warranty on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee included a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty. Both of these warranties were to pay for repairs and replacement parts due to** manufacturer defects or poor workmanship**. However, they did not pay for general wear and tear or maintenance.
The 2015 Jeep model year was the last one to offer a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. In 2016, Jeep changed the powertrain warranty from 5 years, 100,000 miles to 5 years, 60,000 miles, effectively saving the company money while also putting it on the same terms as automakers such as Toyota, GM, Ford, and others.
Since the 2015 Grand Cherokee is more than five years old, the vehicle is no longer under warranty. As a result, you’ll need to consider another option to help you pay for repairs:
