I’m concerned about my personal driving information being sold and used for marketing. I know Mazda offers WiFi in some vehicles and it has embedded maps. Does a Mazda 3 have a tracking device?

Great question. No, the Mazda 3 does not have a tracking device.
The Mazda 3 uses onboard GPS for its navigational system. However, this system does not transmit your location and it does not allow others to track you.
There is a MyMazda smartphone app that can pair your vehicle with your phone, so you can use the Vehicle Finder feature to locate your car. However, this is not an active tracking device. It works by utilizing your smartphone’s GPS to remember the location where you parked the vehicle. This may not work very well in areas with limited connectivity (like underground parking garages).
