Do I need a garage to own an electric car?

I want to buy an electric car, but as of right now I live in an apartment complex that has a shared parking lot. Would I still be able to drive an electric car without a garage?

A private garage that connects to your home power source may be the easiest way to charge your electric vehicle, but that doesn’t mean it’s not doable without one!
Even without access to a garage, you can charge your
electric car
through some of the following means:
  • Have an electrician install an onsite charging station at your dedicated parking spot, carport, or driveway.
  • Lobby for electric car chargers to be added to the complex parking area with other members of your apartment or condo complex who drive electric or plug-in hybrid cars.
  • Charge your car at work or ask your workplace if they have any plans to install electric car chargers.
  • Join an online community of other electric car drivers to find convenient places to charge your car.
As an electric car driver, you have your finger on the pulse when it comes to the newest and best technology in the automotive world. You need a
car insurance
broker that is right there with you, always searching for the best plans at the best prices. That’s why we created the
