Can you return a car in Tennessee?

I just bought a 2022 Chrysler 300 and I’m not liking the handling at all. I live in the Nashville area. Is there a way you can return a car in Tennessee?

Unfortunately, you can’t return a car in
Tennessee
in almost any situation. This is the case for most states across the country.
While federal law mandates a cooling-off period enabling buyers to return other large purchases within three days, it specifically excludes vehicle purchases.
That said, there are a handful of very limited conditions under which you may be able to void or reverse a vehicle transaction:
  • The car is structurally unsound and qualifies as a lemon under
    Tennessee lemon law
  • The sales contract specifically states a given grace period
  • The sales contract was not signed
Buyer’s remorse after a vehicle purchase can certainly feel like a financial blow. But since you likely won’t be able to bring your
Chrysler 300
back to the
Nashville
dealership where you bought it, you’ll want to avoid further remorse by ensuring your car is well-protected by
affordable insurance
