Can you flat tow a Chevy Tahoe?

I’m excited to camp in my RV this summer. However, I also wanted to bring my Chevy Tahoe along for side trips and other little excursions. Can I flat tow my Tahoe?

It depends. You can flat tow a Chevy Tahoe, but only if it has four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case. The two-wheel-drive Tahoe does not have flat-towing capabilities, so you’ll need to use a flatbed trailer to tow it. A two-wheel dolly is also not allowed, as it may cause significant damage to the vehicle.
To tell if you have a two-speed transfer case, look for 4-HI and 4-LO gears. If you have these, your ride has a two-speed transfer case and all-wheel drive, so you should be good to go.
If you decide to take your ride with you on vacation, protecting it can provide some added peace of mind. Download the
