Where is the battery on a Mercedes Sprinter?

The battery on my Mercedes Sprinter died and I needed to recharge it, but when I looked under the hood all I found were terminals for jumpstarting the battery. I got it recharged but now I’m curious – where is the actual battery?

Depending on the model year of your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, the battery will either be under the floor on the driver’s side, or under the hood. Since you didn’t find your battery when you looked under the hood, it’s safe to assume it’s under the floor behind the driver’s seat.
Most manufacturers have moved vehicle batteries out of the engine compartment and put them elsewhere. This creates extra room under the hood and keeps the battery away from the high temperatures from the engine.
