Can you flat tow a Cadillac XT5?
I want to gift my Cadillac XT5 to my brother in California, so I plan on flat towing it behind my motorhome to get it to him. Is this okay, or will it damage the vehicle?

What a great gift! He’s sure to love that XT5. However, you should not flat tow a Cadillac XT5. Flat towing it may damage the SUV.
As you know, flat towing means attaching a tow bar to a car, SUV, or pickup truck and letting it roll on its own four wheels behind a motorhome or other vehicle.
The Cadillac XT5 owner’s manual advises against flat towing. Why is that?
- The XT5 was not designed to be flat towed.
- Drivetrain components could be damaged.
- Repairs are not covered by the vehicle warranty.
