"Can I get my premium refunded if my car insurance didn't cover me for an accident? "

I am tired of paying for insurance that won’t even pay to fix my car. I have to pay it every month and if my car gets totaled, then I get nothing? Why don’t the insurance companies give the money back?

“I know that the expense of car insurance can be frustrating, especially if you have never had to use it, but it is necessary to protect yourself and others.
If you are liable for somebody’s damages or injuries, then your
property damage liability
and
bodily injury liability
coverage protects you from having to pay for these costs yourself.
It sounds like you may not have the right coverage for your vehicle. If you have
comprehensive coverage
and
collision coverage
, then your car would be covered for damage regardless of who is at fault.
Some insurance companies do offer rebates or discounts at renewals, but they aren’t going to refund your entire premium at the end of the policy term. If you were responsible for an accident that caused $100,000 worth of damage, the insurance company would cover you up to your policy limits, not up to the amount that you have paid for the policy. “
