Are garage doors covered by home insurance?
We had a little mishap the other day and, long story short, we accidentally hit the garage door with our car and damaged it. It definitely needs to get repaired. Will our home insurance cover garage door repairs?

will cover damages to your garage door. But you should always double-check your policy to ensure that you are covered.Generally, an attached garage will be covered by homeowners insurance, but a detached garage will only be covered if your policy includes other structures.
Typically, other structures will also only be covered at 10% of your dwelling coverage limit—so keep that in mind when you file an insurance claim for your garage door.
