Are body kits worth it?
My friends all have awesome modifications on their cars. I’m not convinced the additions are doing anything beyond inflating their egos for appearances’ sake. Are body kits worth it?

Ah, you ask a very wise question. Yes, body kits can be well worth the price if you want to improve your vehicle’s aerodynamics or appearance.
There are two basic categories of body kits: performance-enhancing and appearance-enhancing. You can expect to pay between $800 and $10,000 (or far more) for a body kit, depending on your goals.
Performance-enhancing body kits can:
- Improve the aerodynamics of your vehicle
- Provide more downforce and reduce drag
- Increase its cooling capabilities
- Increase speed and reduce fuel costs
On the other hand, some body kits are purely aesthetic. There are plenty of knock-offs online that don’t actually contribute to improved performance. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with modifying your vehicle’s appearance if it makes you happy!
So, are body kits worth it? Only you can decide. Consider your financial situation, how the body kit will improve fuel efficiency, how the body kit will affect resale value, and how happy it will make you. If you decide to go for it, hire a skilled technician to install the kit.
