Are all Jeep Cherokees AWD?

I’m considering a Jeep Cherokee as my next vehicle. However, I’ve only ever owned all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicles, so I want to make sure that the Cherokee offers this option. Are all Cherokees AWD?

No—not all Jeep Cherokees are AWD. In fact, the Cherokee doesn’t offer AWD at all. It’s either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive (4WD). While 4WD doesn’t offer the traction that AWD has when you’re on pavement, it’s a true workhorse when you’re off-roading or blazing new trails**.
For the 2022 model year, three out of the four available trims come with standard 4WD: the X, Trailhawk, and Limited. Only the Limited Lux comes with standard front-wheel drive, although you can add 4WD for an extra cost.
If you decide that 4WD is enough control when you’re behind the wheel, the next step toward parking a Cherokee in your driveway is shopping around for car insurance. To slash your
