No—not all Jeep Cherokees are AWD. In fact, the Cherokee doesn’t offer AWD at all. It’s either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive (4WD). While 4WD doesn’t offer the traction that AWD has when you’re on pavement, it’s a true workhorse when you’re off-roading or blazing new trails**.
For the 2022 model year, three out of the four available trims come with standard 4WD: the X, Trailhawk, and Limited. Only the Limited Lux comes with standard front-wheel drive, although you can add 4WD for an extra cost.
