How much does it cost for car body repair?

I hit a pole in a parking lot and scraped my bumper and fender really badly. I'd rather not go through insurance, so how much does it cost for car body repair?

Bummer! There are a lot of factors that go into determining how much body damage will cost to repair for your vehicle. Cost of parts, labor, and other expenses can range between $100 and thousands of dollars.
If the damage to your vehicle is on the severe side, then
filing a claim
and having your insurance company take care of finding a body shop and keeping track of the repairs may be a better and more cost-effective option. After all, you are paying your insurer to take care of your vehicle every month!
If you would like a general estimate of repair costs for your vehicle, you can look up how much the damaged parts cost to replace, how long the repair process is, and how much labor would cost (assume about $90/hr). Car bumpers tend to run between $500 and $1,500, and paint repair runs between $500 and $2,500 for the damaged fender.
Of course, you will likely need to pay your deductible if you do file a claim with insurance, and your rates may increase if you file multiple claims. If you download the
Jerry
app, you can search for a cheaper insurance company by getting customized quotes sent right to your phone. It’s and only takes minutes!
Good luck with repairs.
