How much Freon does a car hold?

So I drive my grandma’s old car (it’s from the early ’90s) and the a/c has been bad recently. My friend guessed I was low on Freon and suggested I add more. How much Freon does a car generally hold?

This is an interesting question since Freon isn’t allowed to be used in cars made since the late ’90s! For your car, if it does still use it, the answer depends on the make, model, and year of the vehicle.
For the best, most-specific answer, you should reach out to the manufacturer. However, in general, the answer is about one can. This number depends on how much is left in the car, and it’s important not to overfill your car, so make sure you have a specific idea of what you need before you start.
In cases like this, consulting your owner’s manual is always a smart option as well. Seeking the help of a mechanic may be helpful since Freon is so uncommon. They may be able to give you some advice or even provide you with an alternative to Freon that’s easier to find and better for the environment.
Since you have an older vehicle, I’m betting you have some unique
