Most years, September is the best time for buying a new car. During the Labor Day long weekend, automakers often sell their older vehicles at massive discounts, in anticipation of the release of next year’s new models.
This year, however, September discounts will be few and far between. This is due to a global semiconductor chip shortage that has caused vehicle production levels to plummet and prices to spike. New car prices are at an all-time high, as automakers struggle to meet rising demand.
Despite this, all is not lost. Between cash back offers and financing deals, there are still plenty of ways to save money on your new vehicle. Read on for some of the best car-buying deals this September, as reported by U.S. News.

Between cash back offers and financing deals, there are plenty of ways to save money on buying a new car.

Car-buying deal #1: 2021 Nissan Murano

Between now and Oct. 4, Nissan is offering five years of 0% financing and up to $2,500 in cash back on its 2021 Nissan Murano. According to U.S. News, this model is “comfortable and confident rather than sporty,” and its interior is “stylish, though somewhat dated.”
The Nissan Murano is spacious and can fit five passengers comfortably. The model boasts a wide variety of safety features, such as automatic high-beam headlights, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring.
The 2021 Nissan Murano costs between $32,810–$45,910.

Car-buying deal #2: 2021 Cadillac XTS

While this luxury midsize crossover doesn’t offer 0% financing, its six-year 0.9% interest rate is still a great deal. The offer also comes with $500 cash back and is available until Sept. 30.
According to U.S. News, the 2021 Cadillac XTS provides “good fuel economy, a roomy cabin, and a host of standard safety and driver-assistance technologies.” These safety features include automatic emergency braking, a “teen driver” system, and more. The vehicle comes with a standard touch-screen infotainment system and can fit five passengers.
The 2021 Cadillac XTS costs between $43,995–$55,095.

Car-buying deal #3: 2021 Jeep Renegade

The 2021 Jeep Renegade offers up to $5,000 cash back, depending on where you live, until the end of September. While this is an excellent deal, be sure to read the fine print before buying, as in many regions, the cash back offering drops to $2,750. Regardless, this is still a significant discount, especially for this relatively low-price vehicle.
The Jeep Renegade is a great purchase for its price. U.S. News calls it “a formidable off-road,” adding that “few rivals, if any, can match its inclement weather and off-pavement prowess.” This model comes with a touch-screen infotainment system.
The 2021 Jeep Renegade is a relatively inexpensive buy, especially considering its hefty cash back offer. This model costs between $22,850–$29,675.

Car-buying deal #4: 2021 Buick Enclave

The 2021 Buick Enclave offers consumers a choice of discount. Buyers can opt for either an impressive $4,250 cash back deal, or six years of 0% financing. This deal expires at the end of September.
This midsize SUV is roomy, with three rows and space for seven passengers, as well as plenty of cargo space. The Buick Enclave is a good bet for tech-savvy drivers, with a touch-screen infotainment system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an automatic climate control system.
The 2021 Buick Enclave costs between $40,300–$56,300.

Car-buying deal #5: 2021 GMC Acadia AT4

From now until the end of September, the GMC is offering $3,500 cash back with every purchase of its 202 Acadia AT4. This midsize SUV has three rows and fits seven passengers, with space for cargo.
According to U.S. News, this model “gets a more rugged look than most Acadia trims.” The car’s major selling points include its “off-road-tuned all-wheel-drive system, hill descent control, all-terrain tires on gloss-black wheels, hill start assist, and upgraded interior.”
The 2021 GMC Acadia AT4 costs between $29,800–$48,600.
