In the market of SUVs, the 2022 Jeep Compass sets itself slightly apart with its balance of on-road practicality and off-road capabilities It will be available in five trims, including the new Latitude Lux, as well as the Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk, and Limited.

The 2022 Compass has been redesigned with a new multimedia system, which includes a larger touchscreen, better storage and updated materials. It has the next-generation UConnect 5 Android operating system with over-the-air updates.
On the Limited and Trailhawk models, there is an available full-color 10.25-inch frameless digital gauge cluster with customizable menus. The lower trims come with either a standard 3.5-inch cluster or an available 7-inch full-color cluster.
Driver-assist features have been added to the Jeep Compass, even a Highway Assist semi-autonomous driving system that will be available on the Limited, Trailhawk, and High Altitude trims.
The top trim, which is the Limited, has a new black and gray interior with sepia-wrapped accent, and heated back seats are available for the Limited and Trailhawk trims.

Exterior changes on the 2022 Jeep Compass aim to differentiate the on-road and off-road models, according to Cars.com.
Changes that can be seen from the front include a new grille that features gloss-black accents, a larger lower grille and new LED headlights.
Since the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is off-road focused, it has a new red and black anti-glare hood decal, matte-black grille, a new front skid plate, and a larger middle grille for airflow.
Some negative reviews of the 2022 Jeep Compass

review, the Compass has always had an "extremely anemic engine and misbehaving transmission" and this hasn’t changed with the 2022 version.Another complaint about the car is that since the Jeep Compass’ redesign in 2017, the vehicle has had a "sluggish powertrain and sloppy handling," according to the review, and this is still an issue for the Jeep Compass. Although the reviewer said it _is _possible that Jeep addressed these issues without mentioning it.
The review does point out that the dashboard design and tech features are a great addition and come at the right time as more SUVs are adding similar tech to their interiors.
But the interior quality of the Jeep Compass was always a highlight, the review continues. So if the interior was changed but the drivetrain wasn’t, it’s like Jeep "fixed what wasn’t broken and left what was," said the review.
Performance improvements were reportedly made to the 2022 Jeep Compass, but the the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that carries over from the previous model is "lackluster" according to the review. In fact, the review claims that the 2022 model actually has reduced power at 177 horsepower, compared to the outgoing models 180 horsepower.
But even with reduced power, the 2022 Jeep Compass is equipped with an enhanced, fuel-saving stop-start system that’s meant to minimize early engine restarts and reduce noise and harshness.
