MotorTrend
agrees the most notable about the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo is that it has the brand’s all-new V6. It’s hard not to love this sporty, little firecracker engine. Used in other Maserati vehicles, this motor has been rated as high as 621 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque—impressive for a six-cylinder. It’s not currently known whether the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo will have a manual or automatic transmission; expect both. The 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore has twice the horsepower though, thanks to being an EV. The Fogore’s triple-motor setup allows for 1,200 horsepower—silent as a ghost, but lightning quick. Torque ratings for the GranTurismo Folgore are currently unavailable, but we imagine them to be far greater than the gas-powered GranTurismo.
Is the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo or 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore more fuel-efficient?
We know only a little bit about the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo and the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore. But so far, we’re willing to bet that the Folgore ends up schooling the gas-powered GranTurismo in terms of efficiency.
Still, we’re going to call it a tie until 2023 rolls around: 1,200 horsepower is a lot of energy to sustain for the EV version, and with a 0-60 time of less than three seconds, we’re also wagering that drivers won’t be going easy on the gas.
Which 2024 Maserati comes out on top?
We’re going to put our money on the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore. Quadruple digit horsepower ratings beat out the gas-powered GranTurismo’s 621 horsepower.
It’s expected that both cars will have identical interior and exterior designs, so it’s less about appearances and more about powertrain options. And for those who want less power, cheaper engines should be available for lower trim options.
