background
Maserati has long been a symbol of adventure, control, and power, much like the trident of Neptune on their logo represents. The new 2022 Maserati Ghibli is bringing all of the above with its signature Italian style,
luxury
, and sporty precision driveability. Jerry, your favorite car insurance
super app
is bringing you a look at the new mid-sized Maserati sedan.

The Ghibli is built for action

The 2022 Ghibli’s large, sporty engines are designed for maximum driving fun. Four exhaust pipes, a chassis built for thrills, and that sports-car exhaust sound are meant to make the driver feel truly exhilarated.
According to
Car and Driver
, the Ghibli will offer three trim levels with three different engine options. The entry-level GT features a twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 345 hp and standard rear-wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive. The mid-level trim level is the Modena, which produces 424 hp from a twin-turbo V8 engine in rear-wheel capability only. The trim-topping monster, Trofeo, sports a 580 hp twin-turbo V8, also only available in rear-wheel drive.
How much is one of these babies going to set you back? The Ghibli GT starts at $77,695, the mid-range Modena starts at $82,395 and the range-topping Trofeo starts at $115,795. Keep in mind that while the average midsize luxury sedans may start around the $55,000 range, they typically have much smaller engines as standard. Also, for typical Maserati standards, this is pretty affordable.

Ghibli styling and features

What are you getting for those prices? From the sleek, low-slung hood, to the hints of carbon fiber, red brake calipers, glossy black trim, and the wide, sporty back end with spoiler, the 2022 Ghibli exterior is eye-catching, aerodynamic, and follows in the footsteps of the Maseratis that came before it. This car will turn heads!
While the exterior is attention-seeking, the interior has been described as lackluster in comparison. Inside, the Ghibli is drenched in dark, cherry red leather with black accents. Some observant reviewers have also noted that some of the interior pieces are sourced from other Stellantis (Maserati’s parent company) vehicles, with window control buttons from the Jeep Cherokee and steering column components from Chrysler vehicles.
However, for some extra dough, consumers could trick out the interior with leather and silk, faux suede headliners, and a wood-accented steering wheel to up the luxury level.
The 10.1-inch infotainment screen is blended stylistically into the dash in a way that is far more organic and handsome than the usual setup. The system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and also features a standard navigation setup. The classic analog clock emerges from the dash right above the screen for one of the hallmark Maserati looks.
All models come standard with a host of safety features including emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a semi-autonomous drive mode.
