Title 75, section 1332
of the Statutes of Pennsylvania states that license plate frames are allowable as long as the frame is clean and does not interfere with red light cameras or toll collection cameras. The plate must also be legible within the frame from a “reasonable distance.”
This means that frames without plastic covers are fair game.
