What are the rules for license plate frames in Ohio?

Section 4503.21
of the Ohio Revised Code states that “the license plate shall be securely fastened so as not to swing, and shall not be covered by any material that obstructs its visibility.”
Whether your license plate frame reps the Buckeyes or the Bengals, the six-digit license number and registration sticker must be visible with no obstructions. Any license plate frame that allows full visibility of the text is legal in Ohio. 

What about license plate covers?

As with license plate frames, as long as the text remains completely visible on the license plate with no obstructions, a plate cover is legal in Ohio.  

What are the fines for license plate frames in Hawaii?

Visible obstruction to a license plate in Ohio is classified as a minor misdemeanor and can land you a fine of up to $150.
