How does the Ohio Turnpike toll ticket work?

How is the Ohio Turnpike toll ticket assigned? I have to drive on part of the Turnpike on my commute to work, but sometimes there’s no attendant and I can just drive through.

Here’s how the
Ohio
Turnpike toll ticket works:
  1. Once you enter the Turnpike, you have to complete your travels within 24 hours.
  2. If you do this, your toll will be charged based on the type of vehicle you drive and how far you travel on the Turnpike.
  3. Turnpike users can pay their tolls via normal payment methods, like cash, credit, and debit, or via an E-Z Pass. According to what you’ve said, it sounds like you have an E-Z Pass (or an equivalent pass) in your vehicle.
  4. With an E-Z Pass, you’ll prepay for an account. Then, the toll gates will use a transponder to electronically determine all of your toll fares and remove the resulting amount of money from your pre-paid account. Your toll payments will also be lower to account for the cost of your E-Z Pass.
  5. If you fail to pay a toll or use an E-Z Pass to get through a toll, the camera at the toll booth will capture your license plate and you’ll recieve a ticket in the mail at a later date.
