Ranked number one among large luxury SUVs by the U.S. News and World report, the new Lincoln Navigator sets the standard for the luxury SUV class. With plenty of room for up to eight passengers, luxury materials, a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, and tons of options for customization, it’s no wonder the Navigator is a popular pick.
The 2022 Navigator comes in three trim levels: Standard, Reserve
, and Black Label. Each of these trims can be upgraded to the long-wheelbase, or “B” versions, which give the SUV 11.9 inches of extra length. The Standard trim starts at $76,710, while the highest trim, the Black Label L, starts at $107,635. The standard Lincoln Navigator engine in every trim is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. There is no other engine option for any trim, but the V6 gives the SUV impressive speed for its size with 440 horsepower and a 0-to-60 time of 5.8 seconds.
All trim options come with a 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift capability and paddle activation, and none of them have an option for a manual transmission. Rear-wheel drive comes on the Standard and Reserve trims, but both have an option to add all-wheel drive. On the Black Label trim, all-wheel drive is standard.
Those who opt out of the long-wheelbase trims will get a bit more towing capacity: 8,700 pounds with rear-wheel drive and 8,300 pounds with all-wheel drive. The longer trims’ capacity starts at 8,100 pounds with all-wheel drive and maxes out at 8,400 pounds with rear-wheel drive.
Every Lincoln Navigator comes with a suite of convenient features like power-folding second and third-row seats, adaptive LED headlights, and a hands-free liftgate. The standard safety features are also impressive, including collision mitigation, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and a lane-keeping system.

There are also plenty of add-ons available in all trims. The Standard Navigator add-ons include the Active Park Assist 2.0 Prep Kit and all-weather floor mats. The Reserve and Black Label trim come with options including a massage feature on second-row seats and a rear-seat entertainment system.
Some additional colors are also offered at higher trim levels for an extra cost. For instance, the Manhattan Green offered on the Black Label trim will cost an extra $695.
How to customize your Navigator to save money
Opting to upgrade to a higher trim for additional features, adding packages, or installing equipment to a Standard trim will all increase the price of your car.
If you choose the highest trim level of the Black Label L, for instance, your starting price will be $107,635. If you added all of the optional upgrades and packages, the price would go up to over $121,000. That higher price is likely to lead to higher car insurance
rates as well. Luckily, there are a few customization options that can help you save money instead. Here are a few upgrades that may fit the bill:
Security system: While every trim of the Navigator comes with standard security features, adding additional anti-theft technology might earn you a car insurance discount
. Safety packages: The impressive safety features available on the Navigator, like the 360-degree camera and post-collision braking, might earn you lower insurance rates.

Even the Standard Lincoln Navigator offers an impressive list of included features. However, when it comes to personalizing your car, there are always some upgrades that won’t be offered by the manufacturer. Here are some additional personalization options for your Navigator.
Tires
The 20-inch and 22-inch tires offered on the Lincoln Navigator are a solid choice, but if you’re looking for something to see you through the seasons, consider upgrading to all-season tires or even all-terrain tires.
Lift Kit
Although the standard suspension on the Navigator allows for a smooth ride, you can also add a lift kit for even more clearance. This is especially important if you are adding wheels bigger than the 22-inch, as it will give you a bit more room for larger tires.
Automatic transmission fluid cooler
Most people don’t look to the luxury SUV category for speed, but it is possible to add a little power to your Navigator with a cold air intake system. These systems introduce cooler air into the engine to boost horsepower and add speed.

RECOMMENDEDThis app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
