When the 2018 Lincoln MKX was introduced, Ford’s luxury line offered the model in four trim options with a wealth of choices for customization.
The first crossover SUV offered by the brand, the MKX combines the luxury of Lincoln
with a sportier feel than a traditional SUV. Athletic handling, a suspension that absorbs any bumps on the road, and luxury touches make for a tranquil ride even in the busiest traffic. Although 2018 was the last year the line was produced, drivers can still choose trim levels and packages on used models best suited to their needs. To help you narrow it all down, we've created a guide to crafting your ideal Lincoln MKX.

Upon initial release, the 2018 Lincoln MKX was available in four trim levels: Premiere, Select, Reserve
, and Black Label. While the MSRP of the lowest trim level and highest trim level started at $39,035 and $54,230 respectively, used models from that year typically range in price from $26,050 to $38,225 now. As the lowest trim level, the Premiere still offers plenty of features to entice drivers, like the standard eight-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a 10-speaker premium Lincoln sound system. Heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control, as well as a manual tilt/telescoping steering column, are also included in the Premiere trim—and on every subsequent level.
The Reserve adds an upgraded navigation system, while the highest Black Label trim is the only model to come with a 19-speaker Revel Ultima audio system.
The standard engine offered on every trim level of the MKX was the 3.7-liter V6 with 303 hp, although each offered the option of a 2.7-liter turbo V6 with a higher horsepower of 335 hp. Each trim has a mileage of around 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.
The transmission for every MKX is a six-speed automatic, with no option for a manual transmission. Each trim came with a standard front-wheel drive, although the all-wheel drive was also available.
While crossover SUVs have a lower towing capacity, the MKX towing capacity
still offers a max of 2,000 lb across all trims. Lincoln MKX optional packages
Lincoln offered plenty of packages with extra features for all four MKX trim levels, from the Driver Assistance Package with its extra safety features, to the exclusive appearance packages only offered on the Black Label trim.

Aside from comprehensive packages, buyers can opt for add-ons like intelligent all-wheel drive, adaptive suspension, 18-inch all-season snow-chain-compatible tires, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
How to customize your Lincoln MKX to save money
Finding a 2018 Lincoln MKX with all of the add-ons you’re looking for, especially with a higher trim level, will cost you a bit more than a standard model.
While the MSRP of the 2018 line starts at $39,035 for a Standard trim, used models will vary in price depending on the options available. A 2018 Lincoln MKX Select, for instance, might still sell for close to $39,000 if it comes with an all-wheel drive.
However, there are some customizations that you can find on a 2018 MKX that could save you money. Consider adding the following customizations to your list of must-haves in your search:
Security systems: Look for models with additional security features like anti-theft devices. Whether original customization from Lincoln or an aftermarket mod, additional security can save you money on car insurance
. Safety packages: Opt for packages that add safety features like the Technology Package with Active Park Assist and a 360-degree camera or the Driver Assistance Package with its adaptive steering and lane-keeping system. These extra features could lead to a discount on car insurance.

Start earning nowThe best Lincoln MKX mods
There were already several customization options for the 2018 Lincoln MKX when it was first introduced, and used car buyers are bound to see plenty of variety on the market. If you’re looking for some additional ways to add a personal touch to the Lincoln MKX, here are a few options for aftermarket mods.
Floor mats
While it may not be the most glamorous mod, adding custom floor mats to your Lincoln MKX can be the perfect finishing touch. Whether you opt for leather, monogrammed, or patterned mats, you can protect your car from rain, mud, and snow with some personal flair.
Cold air intake
The Lincoln MKX is known for its style, but like many crossover SUVs, it doesn’t exactly impress when it comes to power. Adding a cold air intake system can add more cold air to the combustion process in the engine, leading to additional horsepower for your MK.
Anti-theft devices
While the 2018 Lincoln MK came with some security features, there were few additional options for added security. An aftermarket anti-theft system like a car alarm can give you added peace of mind and may even lower your car insurance rates.

“I would 11/10 recommend Jerry
. I was originally quoted $700+ for insurance for my new car, but by using Jerry I got my payments down to $320 a month. They also have a great support team ready to answer any questions!” —Tobias F.
RECOMMENDEDThis app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
