Does the Mazda 3 have Apple CarPlay?
Yes, all 2019 to 2022 models of the Mazda 3 come standard with Apple CarPlay. While earlier Mazda 3 models won’t have this feature, Bluetooth and USB cable connectivity is available.
If you own an earlier model and want to pair your smartphone via Apple CarPlay, you can install it in any 2014 model-year or newer Mazda that has the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system.
How to add Apple CarPlay to a Mazda 3
Ready to install Apple CarPlay? Since the installation requires hardware and software updates completed by a certified Mazda technician, you’ll need to contact your local Mazda dealership to schedule an appointment.
The installation will take around two hours to complete, during which the newest version of the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system will be installed, along with 2.1-amp USB ports. The price of the installation sits at around $199, not including the cost of labor. For an accurate pricing estimate, inquire with your local service department.
How to enable Apple CarPlay in a Mazda 3
Once Apple CarPlay is installed in your Mazda, smartphone connectivity is pretty simple. Before you get started, ensure your smartphone is updated with the latest iOS and Siris’s enabled.
While in Park, connect your smartphone to the smartphone-labeled USB port with a USB cord or Apple Lightning cable. Your smartphone will be detected immediately and Apple CarPlay should start automatically.
If Apple CarPlay is not immediately displayed on your screen, press and hold the Home button until the Apple CarPlay interface is shown. Once connected, you can access all of your smartphone apps with Apple CarPlay compatibility.
