Yes and no—Apple CarPlay is available for the 2015 Hyundai Sonata, but you’ll have to download a free software update to get it. Plus, it only works with Sonatas with an eight-inch navigation touchscreen.

Only Sonatas with an eight-inch navigation touchscreen are eligible for the update. Here's how to install Apple CarPlay on your Hyundai:
- Remove the SD card from the center console by opening the SD map slot, and then insert it into your computer.
- On your myHyundai account, select Downloads to go to the Vehicle Software Update page. You’ll have to agree to the Terms and Conditions before you can start the download. Run the file once it’s finished downloading and a tool will help you install the update on the SD card.
- Once that’s done, remove the SD card from your computer and re-insert it into your vehicle. Press the Setup button to enter the Setup menu and then go to System Info and Update. The update should then install itself on your car.
Note that only official Hyundai SD cards will work; using any other brand will disable the navigation system and require a reset. If you’re leery of making the upgrade yourself, you can take it to a Hyundai dealership to do it for you for a suggested $50 fee.
