oil pressure light turns on
suddenly, it’s typically a sign to take your car to the shop. If you just returned home to find that the technicians forgot to reset the oil maintenance light in your 2013 Honda Odyssey, however, you can reset this light by following a few simple steps:- Turn your ignition to the ON position, but don’t start your car’s engine. All of your lights should turn on when you do this, but you won’t hear your engine turn over.
- On your vehicle’s dashboard, press the SELECT knob, which is located on the right-hand side.
- Continue to press this knob until your display reads Engine Oil Life.
- Press and hold the SELECT knob until your display begins to blink.
- Release the knob, then press and hold for five additional seconds.
- When you release the SELECT knob, you should see your oil life level reset to 100%.
- Turn your car off, then start your engine to ensure that your engine oil maintenance light has turned off.
If your oil light remains on, it’s a good idea to talk to a mechanic about the problem. This could indicate a faulty sensor, which is a pretty minor problem, or an issue with your engine oil reservoir, which could cause some serious engine damage over time.
