Finding a 2006 Acura TSX radio code is as simple as checking around your vehicle for a radio code decal or using your VIN and radio serial number to use the Acura online lookup tool.
If your car battery has recently died or was replaced, you may be faced with the dreaded “CODE” message plastered across your radio’s display. This nefarious-looking word is signaling a locked stereo system in your vehicle because it lost connection with the battery. And without the radio code, your music, audiobook, podcast, or other listening selection remain unplayable.
A commute without access to a radio sounds horrible for many, so

Why your 2006 Acura TSX needs a radio code

As it turns out, car radios are some of the most frequently stolen car parts out there, so they come with an added safety measure.
When the radio is disconnected from the battery, it locks and requires a radio code before it will work again. This is meant to deter stereo system theft, but because there’s no way to tell the difference between a radio robber and a battery replacement, you may be stuck with the task of figuring out your 2006 Acura TSX radio code.

How to find your 2006 Acura TSX radio code

Happily, that task isn’t too troublesome. You can find a 2006 Acura TSX radio code on a decal or sticker that says something along the lines of “Anti-Theft Radio Identification.” This sticker may be in your glove box, underneath the engine compartment fuse box cover, in the owner’s manual, or along the door jamb or trunk jamb
The radio code will likely be paired with the radio serial number, so you’re looking for a sticker with two codes. It’s important to remember that the radio code will only have five digits. If it’s longer than five digits or contains letters, it’s not the radio code.

How to look up a 2006 Acura TSX radio code

Are you out of luck and fated to live without your driving tunes if the sticker and owner’s manual are absent? Nope! You can find a 2006 Acura TSX radio code with your
vehicle identification number
(VIN) and radio serial number
Your VIN is a 17-digit code that can be found in a few places: the vehicle’s registration, your insurance card, an Acura service statement, or the base of the driver’s side windshield
The radio serial number can be found in one of two ways, depending on the features of your 2006 Acura TSX. For a 2006 TSX without a navigation system:
  • Turn the ignition switch on
  • Turn the radio off
  • Press down the 1 and 6 preset radio buttons, then turn the radio on
The first value that comes across the screen should show the letter U and four digits—these digits will be the first half of the serial number. The second value will show the letter L and the four digits that will make up the second half of the serial number. So let’s say you see “U3300” and “L0011.” The radio serial number would be 33000011.
However, if you have a 2006 TSX with a navigation system, your process will be just a little bit different:
  • Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I)
  • Turn the radio off
  • Press down the top halves of the “SEEK/SKIP” and “CH/DISC” buttons, then turn the radio on
For the navigation system TSX, you’ll see the U-value on the first screen and the L-value on the second screen. Put the four digits behind the U and the four digits behind the L together, and you’ll have your radio serial number.
Now that you have the VIN and radio serial number, head to Acura’s online lookup tool or call (800) 382-2238 toll-free Monday to Friday, 6:00am-5:00pm PST to retrieve your 2006 Acura TSX radio code. Or, of course, you can always schedule an appointment with your local Acura dealership and ask an Acura technician for assistance!
