What is the Bronco Sport’s towing capacity?
My family and I are in the market for a new car. We love to take trips up to the mountains, and we have a little camper we haul with us (it weighs about 2,000 pounds fully loaded). We’re close to buying the Ford Bronco Sport, but want to make sure it’s got enough towing capacity—will it be able to haul our camper?

Getting a new car is a big investment, so it’s great that you’re doing thorough research! We’ve got good news for you: when it’s properly equipped, the Ford Bronco Sport has a towing capacity of 2,200 pounds.
There are a couple of steps you’ll need to take to reach the 2,200-pound mark, though. The baseline Bronco Sport, without any engine upgrades, can tow only 1,500 pounds—which might leave you in a precarious position on those mountain slopes!
First, you’ll need to upgrade to a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. That’ll give you the power you need to tow a few hundred extra pounds.
Next, you’ll have to equip the Class II Trailer Tow Package, which will set you back about $595. This will prepare your Bronco to haul up to 2,200 pounds without breaking a sweat.
After that, you’re ready to hit the road! You should be able to haul your camper, along with all of the equipment you need, for a successful camping trip.
