When we think of
in the snow, we often think of large trucks or SUVs, equipped with towing supplies and heavy duty
. While those types of vehicles are definitely necessary in certain conditions, in other cases a simple sedan can get the job done, too.
As colder weather is upon us, here’s what you need to know about the best sedans for snow.

What features are in the best sedans for snow?

Before we jump into the best sedans for snow, it’s important to understand that there are certain features to look for when searching for snow-equipped vehicles. First, search for a vehicle with either all-wheel drive (AWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD). In most cases, AWD is sufficient, but if you live in a place with particularly treacherous winter conditions, 4WD is likely better for you.
Kelley Blue Book
recommends drivers look for cars with safety features like adaptive headlights, forward collision warning and emergency braking, head up display, heated mirrors, remote start, and
snow tires
, among other things. Safety features like these will help ensure your car can handle any
winter conditions you might face
