background
The BMW M135i looks like an ordinary, no-fluff hatchback from the German automaker. It's an entry-level
BMW
1 Series, which means it's the smallest model of them all, despite being the flagship in the series.
There's nothing significantly peculiar about the car, but the Manhart tuning specimen of the M135i has nothing ordinary about it.
The car underwent significant modifications, and upgrades to enhance its engine performance, redesigned exhaust pipes, new wheels and tires, braking system, and exterior design. This revamped car is now titled the Manhart MH1 350.
So how do the modifications affect your
insurance coverage
? Many factors apply, but let’s not forget to appreciate Manhart's efforts in transforming the sleepy M135i into a larger-than-life car.

What are the features, specs, design, and cost of the BMW M135i?

The BMW 1 Series M135i xDrive is an all-wheel-drive (AWD), five-door hatchback and BMW's smallest car. It features a wheelbase measuring 105.1 inches, 56.5 inches tall, and 70.8 inches wide.
Stretching 170.0 inches long, the BMW 1 Series model weighs 3,306.9 lbs. (1,500 kg) of unladen weight.
Under its hood is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to the AWD system. The power from the motor is transferred to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic Steptronic Sport transmission system.
Car Expert
highlighted the car's MSRP as $71,900. That gets you a vehicle with an electric power steering system that gives drivers better control and handling.
Standard to the car are 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, adaptive LED headlights, blue brake calipers, and colored tailpipes, to mention a few.
The car's interior design exudes a laid-back aura, thanks to its black upholstery and trimmings. It also comes with a slew of tech and safety features, including rear cross-traffic alert, rear collision prevention, lane departure warning, etc.

The BMW M135i review before Manhart revamp

The BMW M135i is the premium model of the 1 Series, sitting on top of the 128ti. The newly introduced 2.0-liter turbocharged engine replaces its predecessor's 3.0-liter six-cylinder motor.
This engine cranks out 306 hp and 450 Nm, enough power to take the car from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 155 mph.
While much might be said about the upgraded engine performance, BMW made very few changes to the vehicle's exterior. It still comes with the same suite of skirts, rear spoilers, and standard 19-inch wheels, which give it an intimidating stance.
Nonetheless, shoppers can purchase the M135i in new colors, including Sao Paulo Yellow, Frozen Pure Gray, and Frozen Orange.
Like the exterior, much of the interior hasn't been touched, and for all the good reasons. The car has a refined, high-quality cabin. The most conspicuous upgrades include the Alcantara leather sports seats, M135i kick plates, and a tech-ready digital cluster.
You'll also find front and rear bottle holders, ambient interior lighting, auto climate control with dual temp zones, etc.

Motor 1
.
The Manhart MH1 350 has a lowered the vehicle suspension by 1.1 inches, thanks to the high-performance H&R springs. The stock 19-inch tires are swapped with 20 Manhart GTS tires that adorn 235/30 series tires that keep the car in contact with the road through the OEM xDrive AWD system.
There's also a brake upgrade for shoppers looking for enhanced brake performance.
