1. Tesla Model X and Model S P85D
Perfect for those shopping the market for a fast family car that is also electric. This EV is equipped with gull-wing doors so kids can easily enter and exit the vehicle. The fact that it travels from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds is a nice bonus. The Model S P85D boasts 691 hp and parks itself, so you can tend to the kids in the $105,670 backseat.
2. Hyundai Sonata and Genesis 5.0
The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine makes 185 hp, and is paired with an aesthetically pleasing design. It’s a well-equipped and affordable sedan for less than $25,000. The Sonata is an excellent choice for your daily commute.
Those looking for more luxury will enjoy the 420 hp V8 in the Genesis 5.0. It has high safety ratings and a driver-adjustable suspension system.
3. Honda Accord EX-L 2.0T and Civic Si
The carmaker has been perfecting this model for quite some time now. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine is faster than its V6 predecessor. The Accord EX-L is available with a 10-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
The Civic Si boasts outstanding fuel efficiency and excellent corner handling. It has a four-cylinder engine with 205 hp. At $23,090, it’s comfortable for a family of four.
4. Nissan Maxima
Perhaps not as impressive as a Nissan Z, but definitely more family friendly. It has a continuously variable transmission and 300 hp.
5. Buick Regal TourX
An all-wheel drive wagon with 250 hp. Owners are guaranteed to stand out from the crowd of Subaru Outbacks.
6. Toyota Camry
The top trim of this model resembles the speed and features of sister brand, Lexus. The XSE V6 makes 301 hp, and has an appealing low-slung grille.
7. Ford Fusion Sport and Taurus SHO
The interior may leave something to be desired, but the twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 with 325 hp does not. It’s all-wheel drive and perfect for used car buyers since the Fusion was discontinued in 2020. The Taurus SHO makes 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. 
8. Volvo V60 and S60 Polestar
It’s not always perceived as a fast family car, but it should be. The V60 is a smaller wagon that is indestructible and speedy. Output ranges from 240 hp to 362 hp, depending on the engine you decide to go with.
The S60 Polestar has 362 hp and comes in beautiful hues. It’s supercharged, turbocharged, and expensive.
9. Mazda 6 Grand Touring
The Skyactiv 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is solid and efficient. The top three trims are available with a turbocharger that makes 250 hp with 93-octane fuel. Torque is tuned to 310 lb-ft.

A modest-looking sedan on the outside with a powerful motor on the inside. The 6.2-liter V8 has rear-wheel drive, a six-speed transmission, and 415 hp. A rare used find.
11. Kia Optima and Stinger
A reliable option for less than $30,000. The top-trim SXL Turbo is a fast family car with a panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats. Owners will appreciate the Optima’s great warranty.
With a robust budget, buyers can find themselves driving a Stinger GT, outfit with a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 that makes 365 hp. This four-door vehicle is quick.
12. Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon
This German twin-turbo V6 rumbles with 326 hp, and it’s all-wheel drive. Although it’s not as quick as the AMG version, it holds its own and seats a family of seven.
13. Chrysler 300
This unassuming rear-wheel drive car has an engine that starts at 292 hp. But it’s also available with a Hemi motor. According to

, buyers may as well invest in a Dodge Charger, which is more attractive and significantly cheaper. But owners do enjoy the large trunk and safety features.
14. Dodge Charger
With many trims to choose from, there is a Charger for every speed and budget taste. Start with 292 hp and rear-wheel drive for less than $30,000. Critics insist on the 707 hp SRT Hellcat model for those with $68,000 to spend.
15. Volkswagen Golf Alltrack and GTI
While not the fastest car on this list with a mere 170 hp, the wagon is a fun drive with its six-speed standard transmission. It has a turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four engine and comes well-equipped for less than $30,000.
16. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
A great handling sedan for $35,000. It’s equipped with Brembo brakes, a twin-clutch automated manual transmission, and a performance-oriented all-wheel drive system. The 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine delivers 291 hp.
17. BMW M5
Family hauling meets sports car performance in this quick sedan. The turbocharged V8 engine is capable of 600 hp. Passengers enjoy the luxurious comforts and abundance of safety features.
18. Audi S6
Another top safety pick thanks to its cutting-edge technology. It has all-wheel drive and a turbocharged V8 motor with an output of 420 hp. Classy meets performance with a combined fuel mileage of 20 mpg.

19. Dodge Durango SRT

21. Mazda CX-9
An all-wheel drive SUV that is faster than its competitors, like the Toyota RAV-4, Honda CR-V, or Nissan Rogue. The turbocharged engine has an output of 250 hp and a fuel mileage of 28 mpg on the highway.
22. Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
The twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 makes 570 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. It travels from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. At $157,300, this is the most expensive fast family car on this list.
