What kind of exhibits are at the Savoy Automobile Museum?

The Savoy Automobile Museum showcases rotating exhibits geared to immerse visitors in the cultural diversity of cars. Here’s what’s currently on display:

American Racing

Georgia’s racing past and present are on display in this exhibit featuring locally donated and loaned race cars from the 1950s into 2018.
Visitors will be transported back in time when viewing the 1970 Superbird and the 1956 Hillegass Sprint race car and can imagine themselves in the shoes of fellow Georgians racing along the Bonneville Salt Flats.

The Great American Classics

No matter your background with cars, The Great American Classics exhibit promises a thrilling and educational experience for all!
With automobiles like the 1932 Ruxton Model C, the 1946 Lincoln Continental Coup, and the 1961 Cadillac Series 60, visitors can appreciate first-hand the history and evolution of American-made automobiles.
Each of the exhibit’s 9 cars features related information on the vehicle’s conception, manufacture, and public reception.

Woodies

Continue your walk through history with the Woodies exhibit, featuring classic wood-sided station wagons from the 1920s and ‘30s—known colloquially as woodies—that helped carry American families across the country.
From the 1953 Ford Crestline Country Squire Wagon Woodie to the 1946 Mercury Woodie, this exhibit pays tribute to the classic family car.

Orphans

The pre- and post-war eras in American history saw the rise and fall of many aspiring car companies. Although many manufacturers succumbed to wartime industry demands, some of their unique cars prevailed.
The Orphans collection displays a number of such “orphan” cars, including a 1953 Hudson Hornet and a 1954 Studebaker Commander Starliner Coupe, among 8 others—all unique cars tethered to a particular and striking moment in America’s automotive history.

Savoy Collection

The Savoy Collection is the museum’s permanent exhibit, featuring a curation of unique mid-century cars. With 12 automobiles currently on display—from a 1936 Chevy Pickup to the 1960 Cadillac 62 Series Convertible—the Savoy Collection is the largest and most diverse exhibit of them all.
