Will renters insurance cover your rent if you lose your job?
I've been hearing rumors at work that layoffs are coming. If I'm laid off, will my insurance cover my rent?
Unfortunately, no, renters insurance does not cover your rent in the event that you lose your job. What it does cover is your personal property, medical and legal bills if you’re liable for damage or injury to others, and temporary living expenses if your home is uninhabitable for a time.
